RED 6545 Issues in Vocabulary and Word Study June 7 – 11, 2004 Teachers in this course learned many strategies to help middle/high school students become self-sufficient readers. The many strategies were designed to "fix-it" if the problems were related to vocabulary and comprehension. A matrix was developed to record strategies and keep track of the groups, types of students, strengths, and weaknesses that a strategy would best benefit. If you would like to collect your own strategies, this link will take you to the blank matrix, in Excel Format. Our goal is to collate the completed matrixes and make that analysis available here for the 2004-2005 school year. In the future, we hope to create a searchable data-base of the information we compiled. |

| RED 6540 January - March, 2004 Students in this class were required to present information to the class about chapters in the text, Instructing Students Who Have Literacy Problems. The links below connect to different materials that were created for that project. |
In order to design an appropriate learning
program for readers, teachers need a good collection of materials
that assess levels, interests and attitudes, phonemic awareness,
phonics, word attack, etc. Courney Lough has collected an excellent set of materials. We have scanned those with no copyright showing and made them available for you from the following Directory. |
