AP Academy

Welcome to Springstead High School's AP Academy!
Springstead offers an impressive variety of 24 different AP courses!

AP courses consist of one and two-semester courses in various areas of study. Students who take these rigorous courses can expect to gain a more in-depth understanding of the material than in a regular, or honors class.

Students can earn college credit through these courses ONLY if they score high enough on the National Standardized AP Exam at the end of the course. This test does NOT determine whether or not the student gets high school credit for the course, and does not affect their grade. Most colleges/universities require students to get a 3 out of 5 on the exam, but others may require a higher score if the class is heavily related to the student's major.

It is very important for all students to look into to take AP classes, but sophomores are encouraged to take AP courses. Please take a look at these course descriptions of sophomore level classes, to see which areas of study your student is confident in taking.

Congratulations to our AP Enviornment Club on a job well done. View their Splash! Mini-Grant Project PowerPoint here. Thank you SWFWMD!
